Sydney Social Kayaking Meetup Group

Sydney Social Kayaking Meetup Group

This group is for everyone, beginner & experienced alike, who is after a group to kayak in Sydney with.  Our relaxing social activities, called “paddles”, often involve time at cafes.

Kayaking with coffee or chocolate any one? Or maybe kayaking with a gourmet lunch? Or does Tapas sound better? :)

Are you thinking that social kayaking sounds fun, which it is, but never been in a kayak before and fear being left behind? We are definitely the group for you.  You will never be left behind when paddling with us and we use the very stable sit on kayaks.  Our little group has a great fully licensed flat water kayak instructor, Laura from Fitness Angels, as well as many very experienced paddlers, such as myself, who enjoy nothing more than helping fellow members new to kayaking get up to speed quickly.

We are the first and original Sydney Social Kayaking Meetup group which I started, back in 2012, because of my passion in kayaking and my desire to foster that enjoyment in other like minded individuals.  Kayaking is, in my opinion, the best and most enjoyable way to exercise the whole body using a low impact activity.  Almost all our social activities have kayaks available for hire so members who, like me, don’t own a kayak can join in the fun.

With the help of several members the group is able to offer a wide range of paddles all over Sydney catering for all levels of flat water kayaking experience. Locations include Manly Cove, Rose Bay, Watsons Bay, Cockatoo Island, Narrabeen, Tunks Park, Northbridge, The Spit, Roseville, Bundeena, Audley, Hacking River, Woronora River, Botany Bay, Pittwater, and McCarrs Creek with more added all the time.  We even enjoyed the New Years Eve fireworks from the water with great clear views!

We fully support Sydney's local kayak hire businessessuch as Fitness Angels (www.fitnessangels.com.au), OzPaddle (www.ozpaddle.com.au), Bundeena Kayaks (www.bundeenakayaks.com.au), Sydney Harbour Kayaks (www.sydneyharbourkayaks.com.au) and Manly Kayaks (www.manlykayakcentre.com.au).

See you out on the water.  We also have a Facebook page - Sydney Social Kayaking.
