015. Forbes to Condoblin

Cottons Weir at Forbes is the access point for the Forbes to Condobolin section of the Lachlan River. Ensure adaquate water is leaving the weirs in the sections your attempting. There are five sections described in the Forbes to Condoblin section of the Lachlan. Be sure you study each one in detail.
Volumes of water are deviated at Jemalong and Bumbuggan weirs which may effect your travels below these weirs on the Lachlan.
SPECIAL NOTE.  The Lachlan become the minor water carrier within this section.The traveller is required to leave the Lachlan at the junction of the Bumbuggan Creek  (approx 33.133725, 147.273124 ) and portage around the Bumbuggan Weir where they will then travel to join the Goobang Creek ,which will take them into Condobolin, where the Goobang Creek rejoins the Lachlan.  Goobang Weir in Condobolan is first Access point in Condoblin.  This is the way State Water sent the water and leaves the Lachlan with little, if any flow.
There are various access points in this section which are detailed in access points on this site. They include Wiers at Jemalong, on Jemalong Station ,Bumbuggan, Island Creek ,various reserves and bridges are listed, but ,the numerous logs across the river, river pumps and fish ladders at various points are not itemised and you need to be awear of their existance and find you way over,under or around as the case may be.  Distance portaging is required at Jemalong Weir, and portaging is required around Jemalong Station and Bumbuggan Creek Weirs.
In this section the river mainly flows through farm land and understand that you are in private property once you leave the river outside the reserves and you should treat the properties  and landholders with respect and courtesy planning your rest stops and overnight camps to the marked reserves.
