It is simply a facility for sharing information about some kayaking activities in the district, for kayakers who want to know when and where other paddlers might be found on the water. Further information, including a calendar of paddles, is available on the website (access via the link below) or via the email eurobodallakayakers[at]gmail.com

Description:

A 20 km round trip paddle that takes in some of the best of Jervis Bay.  Start by heading straight across the Bay to the southern end of Bowen Island.  Be aware that there are shallow areas between Govenor Head and Bowen Island.  Watch for breaking waves before you venture out from Jervis Bay into more open water.  Be aware also that the cliffs on the outside of Bowen Island are steep and reflect the incoming swell quite well.  You will be paddling through swell coming from at least two directions.  Skip the circumnavigation of Bowen Island if you wish to shorten the trip and avoid the most exposed part of this paddle.  Stop for a break on Murrays Beach before returning home.  Stay clear of the navy base HMAS Creswell and any navy vessels in the Bay.  Landing is not permitted on Bowen Island.  If you are keen to paddle on Jervis Bay but are not sure of your abilities consider joining a group undertaking this paddle with a guide from Sea Kayak Jervis Bay (www.seakayakjervisbay.com.au).
