The Canoe and Kayak Trails program by New south Wales Crown Lands promotes the use of riverside crown land where you can either access a river and in some cases camp on the reserve. They have several map kits that can either be downloaded as a pdf or ordered as hard copies

If you are paddling the 26km to Tumut drive 8km south along the Snowy Mountains highway and turn right onto the Blowering Dam access Road
Drive 1.5km along the Blowering Dam Access road and then pull off onto the left hand side of the road when it comes back to the Tumut River. This is the site of an old bridge.
If you are paddling the 12km to Junction Park Lions Reserve you could drop a vehicle there first and then drive up along Tumut Plains Road and turn right onto Snowy Mounatins Highway and then left onto Blowering Dam Access road
