Swan Bay Hawks Nest

Park along Koonwarra Dr close to Karthena Cres. Access to river at tides of 1M plus is easy. Access at low tide is rather muddy as there are mangroves. Paddle down river with outgoing tides and you can exit at Tea Gardens or Hawks Nest. Plenty of options for cafes, public toilets ect If you plan to paddle in any mangrove area - you can only access at high tide. Do not get out of your kayak/canoe in the mangroves, muddy and oyster shells which are extremely sharp. If you park at Swan Bay access point + have a trolly to carry on board, you can walk back by road from Hawks Nest boat ramp - easy flat 20 minute walk - or of course paddle back upstream.
