The Den of Nargun car park in the Mitchell River National Park provides access to the river. A walking track from the car park leads to two tracks. Take the right hand track to the scenic lookout and on to a grass area. From here take a small track to the right down to the river immediately below the Den of Nargun rapid. The other tracks will take you to the Den of Nargun itself which is a very interesting spot but a much longer walk. There is a camping area upstream of the Den of Nargun on river right. The walk in or out at this stop is long and up/down hill. It is not ideal to carry boats into or out of here but if you have a few people assisting it isn't too bad. This is a handy access point to break the trip from Angusvale to Final Fling. Boats can be left overnight beside the river and the trip finished the next day.
