The Overland Corner Hotel was a resting point for travelers and drovers. The Hotel is on the Old Coach Rd, (turnoff the Goyder Highway) was established in 1859.
Paddle steamers would also be regularly visiting with supplies.
The Overland Corner Reserve is part of a larger wetland complex with a diversity of habitat including lagoons and open flood-plains.
