Cowra is the exit point for the Darbys Falls Cowra section and the entry point for the Cowra Forbes ( FARLEIGH) section of the lachlan River.
Access to the Lachlan river at Cowra is from the Low level bridge which is under the main Midwestern Hiway river crossing bridge.
A second access/egress point is at the town water pumping site behind the park alside the caravan park upstream from the bridges.
Flush Toilets (three sets), water, rubbish bins, picnic shelters, park benches, plenty of shade. Café, Visitors Centre and McDonalds on the far side of the park, with Aboriginal Art under bridge. Can be quite busy, with traffic using the low level bridge and lots of people on the banks swimming. I prefer the Pump House on the other bank, but for the left bank you could pull out before the pump house or 50m or more after low level and walk back on fishermen’s tracks. Do not leave kayaks unattended near the Low Level bridge itself. The left bank for one kilometre downstream is part of the showground and is public land. There are fences above the banks, so camping along the banks would be possible and relatively quiet if you can find a spot. The right bank for 600m downstream is also public land (railways), and both banks for 600m upstream are as well, but all would get some people wandering along.
Visitors centre at western end of traffic bridge for all accommodation details or any other information required. Caravan/camping park adjacent to bridges.
