The pull-out point at Georges Creek (where good camping is available) is on the Armidale-Kempsey Road 35km west of Bellbrook. To reach the put-in point from Georges Creek, continue on the Armidale-Kempsey Road which at this stage climbs rapidly to the plateau. Near Wollomombi turn left onto the Armidale-Grafton Road. In Armidale take a turn to the south using the 1:100000 Armidale map or road maps to get to Ensmore (Map Ref. 815006 Armidale). Continue east along this road taking the left fork at Map Ref. 851998 Armidale then taking another left fork at (Map Ref. 897010 Armidale). Take this track north to Map Ref. 903048 Armidale where the car track ends. From here it is about a 3km carry, descending 600m on a well demarcated though sometimes very steep track to the river at Map Ref. 907070 Armidale.
