
Burrinjuck Waters State Park is 75 hectares of un-spoilt Australian bush nestled on the Southern escarpment of Mt. Barren Jack in NSW. It offers spectacular scenery and friendly wildlife in their natural state. The park is quiet and peaceful with tranquil surroundings. It is a stunning place to relax and enjoy a myriad of recreational activities. It offers a haven of untouched native bushland just waiting to be enjoyed. Get up close and personal with the native wildlife, or satisfy the thirst for adventure with a choice of water sports. Burrinjuck Waters is among the best places in NSW for both casual and avid bushwalkers. A variety of trails have been developed, ranging from easy to the more challenging. The famous 370 km-long Hume and Hovell Walking Track also passes through the Lake Burrinjuck State Park. Popular with visitors as well as keen fishing enthusiasts, Lake Burrinjuck is home to the famous Murray cod, as well as Golden perch (yellow belly). Other species such as trout, redfin and European carp are targeted on a regular basis

Activities
Water sports at Burrinjuck Waters State Park NSW include fishing, water-skiing, swimming and boating. You can also hand feed King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas. There are quiet kangaroos (with resident joey's) feeding at your doorstep. Enjoy a game of volleyball on the parks volleyball court. Other activities include: Bird watching, canoeing, frisbee, golf, sailing, tennis, walking/hiking trail and water-skiing. You can also use Burrinjuck Waters as a home base for visits to the historic towns of Binalong, Yass and other places of interest. Binalong features Australia's only purpose-built motor museum and restoration workshop. Yass boasts a Railway Museum and the Hamilton Hume Museum, showing aspects of Australia's exploration history. There's also Cooma Cottage, once Hume's home, and the fascinating Yass archives. There are eight wineries around nearby Murrumbateman and the district is renowned for its excellent glassware. Visit one of the most renowned glass artisans, Peter Crisp, at his gallery on the Hume Highway. The spectacular Carey's Caves at Wee Jasper features seven chambers of colourful limestone, with guided tours Friday to Monday.
