This group has been set up for people who are interested in bushwalking (Day Hikes); overnight hiking (a bushwalk with an overnight camp); and Car Camping (a bushwalk with an overnight camp base you can drive to). Most of our day hikes and overnight camping would be centred in and around the Greater Sydney Region, however, at times we may organise an event further afield.
The main aim of the group is to have fun, see and enjoy the great outdoors, and stay safe. We are looking for people who are willing to enjoy the great outdoors; behave sensibly, respectfully & safely. We can have an adventure, if we're all on the same page; and willing to keep each other safe.The ideal members would have some experience with day hiking, and understand the need for personal safety. You would be expected to take responsibility for your own safety and to arrive at events fully prepared. Some of the overnight hikes are classed as remote – in other words we need to bring in everything we need, and take out all our rubbish.
We prefer to amble, take it slow and steady in order to enjoy and experience the beauty of the natural environments that we are walking through. We like to stop and take pictures and video. We are not in a rush, we prefer to take our time and arrive at camp/home SAFELY. We are not about endurance, however, you should still be reasonably fit and able to walk long distances.
