Business Description: The School of Yak is a supplier of Kayak Safety Training and Fitness programs as well as Guided Kayak tours. 
KAYAK CLASSES: The School of Yak offers Kayak Training Programs and Individual Lessons on the Hunter and Williams River, Newcastle Harbour and Lake Macquarie. Learn the essential skills every paddler needs to enjoy kayaking safely
KAYAK TOURS: At The School of Yak we're proud to be the only licensed operator conducting Kayak Tours in the Hunter Wetlands National Park. Hear about Hunter River history as we take you on a wonderful paddling journey into this magnificent RAMSAR listed wetlands.
Principal Aims: The School of Yak has a primary goal of introducing safe kayaking techniques to participants through provision of documented training programs utilizing the current best practise kayak skills as adopted by Australian Canoeing. To be provided by appropriately qualified industry standard instructors.The School of Yak aims to introduce people to the pleasure of kayaking for health and leisure through guided tours and adoption of healthy lifestyle choices by undertaking kayaking to improve fitness and wellbeing.The School of Yak undertakes to actively teach and practise the “Leave No Trace” principal of environmental sustainability.Who Can Join Us: The School of Yak offers paddling opportunities to children, youth and adults from a wide range of backgrounds such as visitors to our region, educators, scouting, local community, conservation groups and disadvantaged youth.Resources: We own Commercial premises in Newcastle NSW with office and classroom space for teaching Kayak skills programs.  Currently we own 6 brand new Winner Sea Kayaks and complying safety equipment for every vessel. We have under construction a new purpose built trailer for kayak transport.
