The Macquarie Marshes are a nationally and internationally significant (Ramsar-listed) wetland, providing habitat for waterbirds, including migratory and a range of endangered species. The Marshes are one of the largest and most diverse wetlands in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Situated in a remote area between Warren, Quambone and Carinda, you can escape the crowds in north-west NSW and unwind in peace. The Marshes are approximately 90% private property, and 10% Nature Reserve (which is not open to the public). Hence, there are limited opportunities for the public to see the Marshes unless you book a tour with us.
The purpose of the Nature Reserve, managed by the National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS), is primarily conservation and research. Our tours offer a unique experience in this ecologically rich area.

Local to the region, I have excellent knowledge of the Macquarie Marshes—and have been paddling in the Marshes for the past eight years.
I have worked in environmental science, specifically river management, but these days, my work is more in habitat restoration, environmental education, and kayak instructing. Kayaking and canoeing are my favorite pastimes, so I’m stoked to be able to combine my love for paddling with my passion for environmentalism in these incredible wetlands! I’m also the guide for NPWS Discovery Tours in the Macquarie Marshes.
As a qualified kayak and canoe guide and instructor for several years and now an assessor as well under the Paddle Australia Qualification Scheme, I love training others to become guides and helping them develop their skills on the water. Keeping you safe while you enjoy the Marshes is my number one priority.
