Description:

This is a very pleasant paddle through farming and orchard country with a backdrop of sandstone clift. Towards the end of the trip the river becomes tidal. Bird life is prolific in this section and there are many nice lunch spots along the way. At lower levels up to 1.2 the water meanders across a wide sandy river bed and so you need to pick th channel or get out and walk in soft sand until you find the deeper water. There is only one remote camp site along the river in a small section of National Park and you can also camp at Upper Colo Reserve and just do day trips along the riverĀ
