Start at Chatsworth boat ramp. To get there, travelling South on the pacific Highway, after crossing the Mororo Bridge on Pacific Highway (N.B. This is the more Northerly of the 2 bridges across the Clarence) turn right toward the village of Chatsworth. You will easily find the boat ramp on the river. From the boat ramp paddle in a Southerly direction, round the Southern tip of Warregah Is and then proceed North on the “Back Channel.” You will cross under a bridge. Turn left into Mangrove Creek. This can be paddled for at least 5 kilometres. Faster paddlers can go further. On returning to Back Channel proceed in a Northerly direction to complete circumnavigation of Warregah Island. Finish at the start point. Circumnavigation of the Island is 13 km. Paddlers can choose to go whatever distance they are comfortable with up Mangrove Creek. (e.g. if you paddle 5 km up the creek your total paddle will be 23 km).
