Description:
This section of the Macdonald is very remote and for the vast majority of the time it is dry and so can not be paddled. It runs through the Yenco National PArk which is part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. The river has a sandy river bed with lots of areas with soft shifting sand that is referred to as quick sand. You can sink up to your waist with a pack on and if you do not try to escape imediately you may need to be dug out.
