This is a popular off-shore trip among local sea kayakers.  It has a good mix of distance and testing conditions as well as being very scenic along a fairly exposed section of coastline.
Departing from Rockingham Sea Rescue Boat Ramp, heading N to South West Point on Garden Island, follow the coastline, pick your way through the reef breaks and swells.
Some nice beaches to land on for a rest, if required, along the way.
Predominant swells and wind patterns will through up some big testing seas to test even the more experienced paddler.  Advice is to go with an experienced and practiced group or club that know the area.
Be sure to pack all your regulation safety gear and communication equipment, Rockingham Sea Rescue (VN6KC) are well within reach.  Log on with them before you leave and log off on your return.  They do a marvelous job.
