Wrens Flat to Gerrans Bridge Gauge
This section starts as a narrow fast flowing stream with gravel races. After a couple of kilometres it narrows into a short gorge with multiple rapids (grade 2 - 3). After the gorge ends the gradient decreases and it becomes a slow flowing river with long flat stretches. The river is prone to snagging and is long at 31 k so allow sufficient time. The get in point is at Wrens Flat on Mt Sunday Road. The road is suitable for two wheel drive vehicles however after bad weather trees can fall across the road. Basic camping is available at Wrens Flat. There are a number of access tracks on river left as well as campsites (particularly Grannys Flat) however these are generally closed between June and November. The get out point is at the gauge near Gerrans Bridge on the Jamieson-Licola Road.
