This is a 5 km Section of the river from the Edward River Bridge to the Weir. You are paddling upstream to "START' at the mouth of the Edwards River.
OR check that the Timbercutters Museum at Picnic Point will give you access, so you can save that upstream paddle.
The Edward River Canoe Trail starts east of Mathoura in southern NSW. Take the Picnic Point Road and travel 7 km through the forest, past the Bird Hide to the Tocumwal (Murray Valley Trail) turn off, and then 2.7 km down the unsealed road is Edward River Bridge. The campsite beside the river is a good spot to camp the night before your adventure begins. From here you can paddle the 5 km upstream to the mouth of the Edward River where a weir controls the water level. (NOTE: From 2015 the Timbercutters Museum Restaurant at Picnic Point will provide access near the weir).
