This is an overnight trip:
Day 1 is 8.5 hours and river distance 46klms to McKenzie Reserve downstream from Balpool Road Bridge. Free tent based camping at McKenzie Reserve. Please respect any private property signage. This is a remote area but close to the sealed road to Moulamein.
Day 2 is 6 hours and river distance 30km to Moulamein Reserve near the old wharf on the south side of the bridge. Close to shops. Free camping is permitted on the river bank along the “River Walk” on the left hand side near the bridge. Vehicle access to the reserve is via the river track on the southern side of the bridge. Facilities nearby include: Toilets are available at Moulamein Football Oval (150 m) & Bowling Club. Public toilets, picnic tables & bins close-by in the township. “Mooloomoon” Historic Shearing Shed has toilets & showers. “Mooloomoon” is at the end of Hay St.
