A fun moderate run with continuous rapids and a big portage around a spectacular waterfall.
Glen Fernaigh River (also spelled Glen Ferneigh, Glenferneigh and Glenfernaigh) is an obscure little creek that flows into the Nymboida near the start of the Harness Cask to Tyringham section.
The first reported descent was in 1997 and at the time of writing this guide it may not have been paddled again! A huge, spectacular waterfall (Glen Fernaigh Falls) requires portaging in the first couple of hundred metres. It is followed by some nice long sections of continuous rapids that may require scouting and caution. This section of river has a short section with lava flows like some North Queensland Rivers.
