Description:

Please review the Downstream of Gara River Junction to Geoges Creek for details of the Macleay River. This section has some small rapids and gravel races and it meanders through pleasant pastoral country. When the river rises after substantial rain, big pressure waves and hastacks may be present. The trip can be broken into stages. Intermediate access points can e found at Comara, Bellbrook., Toorooka, Temagong, Turners Flat and Sherwood as the Kempsey - Georges Creek road follows the river fairly closely and side roads cross the river fairly frequently.
