This is a great paddle for begginners in kayaks, canoes or SUP, although the can be some challenges in negotiating the willow choke in the first two kilometers downstream of Burradoo. The water is banked up behind the Berrima Weir and so it is generally flat water although it does flwo at the upstream end after rain or releases from the Wingecarribee Reservoir. The river starts out in a narrow channel and then spreads into a wide lake behind the weir. There are some willows chokes and unattractive willow stands in the upper end in farm land but you will paddle into a reseee managed by the local council. the only public access is at Burradoo but there are no facilities aat the launch point and so you will need to allow time for the return trip. There are places to pull up and have a picnic or walk in the Berrima Weir Reserve.
