Description:

Although no canoeing report is available, inspection of the country and an assessment of the gradient would indicate that it should be suitable for experienced paddlers with good remote area skills. Paddling time is estimated at 15-25hrs (3-4 days) depending on water level and tree hazards.  It would be expected that sand and gravel races would predominate, and with such a small stream one would normally encounter some tree blockages. The moderate gradient would indicate no large drops or rapids.
This is a wilderness  paddle with 2 access tracks in the first half but as you approach the end there is better access to a track to walk out if required.
The river level gauge is a long way downstream of the section and so we recommend studying the rainfall in the upper catchment and adjoining catchments at rainfall gauges at Bendethra, Plumwood, Bettowynd (Nobbys Hill), Majors Creek and Snowball the Captains flat Radar also has an image that accumulates rainfall in a 24hour  period so you can see the millimetres of rain that have fallen in the area. This radar image can be overlayed with the catchment boundaries.

If you have paddled or fished in this section your comments and photos and video from the trip would be welcome
