Tuross Lake and Lower Tuross River
Jon Mortimer manages the Eurobodalla Kayakers website and email list. Eurobodalla Kayakers is not a club. It is simply a facility for sharing information about some kayaking activities in the district, for kayakers who want to know when and where other paddlers might be found on the water. Further information, including a calendar of paddles, is available on the website (access via the link below) or via the email eurobodallakayakers[at]gmail.com

Plenty of paddling options on this generous lake with its protected places scattered with estuaries and islands. Take a map and a compass with you to avoid too much unplanned exploration.
There is easy access off Trafalgar Road / Nelson Parade at Lavender Bay, just west of the boat ramp. Ample free parking is available alongside the shallow sandy edge. Toilets and waterside cafes nearby.
This pleasant flatwater paddle takes you southwest across Tuross Lake and around the south side of Horse Island. After paddling under a small bridge turn left at the T junction to work your way around the southern tip of Cambanthin Island arriving at the Tuross River. Turn right at this T junction to paddle down the Tuross River to Four Ways. At this junction turn left and a short paddle brings you to another T junction at Bowns Creek. A right turn here will take you under what remains of an old bridge and then out to Tuross Lake. Another right turn will have you travelling southeast down the Lake and back to Lavender Bay.
The Eurobodalla Kayaking and Canoeing Brochure provides information on many other paddles in this part of the world.
