Jon Mortimer manages the Eurobodalla Kayakers website and email list. Eurobodalla Kayakers is not a club. It is simply a facility for sharing information about some kayaking activities in the district, for kayakers who want to know when and where other paddlers might be found on the water. Further information, including a calendar of paddles, is available on the website (access via the link below) or via the email eurobodallakayakers[at]gmail.com

Description:

Paddle up the Moruya River west of Moruya by launching at the boat ramp next to Riverside Park.  This is an easy flatwater paddle in a tidal section of the River.  There are some shallow spots and while paddling is always possible, avoiding the bottom of the tide makes for easier paddling.  The sandy bank adjacent to the Yarragee Recreation Reserve makes for a convenient stop and turnaround point for this paddle.  It isn't signposted but is easy to identify.  As always though, a map will be useful.  The River is quite accessible above this point and more energetic paddlers can extend the round trip up to 24km, depending on the tide.  Visit www.eurobodallakayakers.com to see when local paddlers will be on the water here.  The Eurobodalla Kayaking and Canoeing Brochure provides a description of this and sixteen other paddles in this part of the world.
