



Accessible only by boat this remote campground is located several kilometres south-east of the Murray Mouth on the Coorong.
You will need to be self-sufficient including bringing your own drinking water and firewood. Gas stoves preferred.
Camping fees (from $13.00 per boat) payable. Permits available from self-registration station or NPWSA.
Fire Ban: Solid fuel ban from 1 November to 30 April
Short walk to Ocean Beach where between October to January you may see the Hooded Plover. The Coorong is a significant wetland of national and international importance with many species of waterbirds, either indigenous or visiting the area for breeding and feeding their young. The orange-bellied parrot, a critically endangered species, uses the Sir Richard Younghusband peninsula as a summer breeding ground before returning across Bass Strait to Tasmania.
