Along the Colo river downstream of the Wollemi National Park there are three vehicle access points with NO CAMPING allowed. They are the Upper Colo bridge, Putty Road Bridge and Skeleton Rocks Reserve. There is one public vehicle access point where you can camp at Upper Colo Reserve and there is a walk in access point with camping at Colo Merroo. All other property along the colo is privately owned and the landowners do not allow the general public to camp on their land which includes the sand banks.There is one location where part of the Wollemi National Park extends down to the river bank and at that poiint the river splits into two channels and the right hand channel which adjoins the Wollemi NP is usually a dry sand bank and so you can camp at that location. I am not sure at what level the sand bar is submerged but it is probably between 1.3m ans 1.5m at the Upper Colo gauge.
