
Lachlan river access below Wyangala dam .
Access to the Lachlan River below the wall can be obtained from the disipator park in the village below the wall. Follow the roadway thru the disipator park until it leaves the park on the Southern end of the old closed bridge. follow the track until you find a entry point suitable for your use. To get around the spill way travel back towards Darbys Falls . Just on the Darbys falls side of the river, off the new bridge, turn back toward the wall. Approx 1.5km along this sealed road is a dirt track that leaves the road parrallel to the road and works down to the river and back on to the spill way. suitable entry points will be found along here. If all this seems to hard you will find your way into the river from the new bridge but car parking in this area does not exist. Accomodation and goods are available at the village service station and recreation area park.
NOTE>>>> When in this area and a loud siren is heard, as the signage indicates , get out of and away from the water. The siren indicates a opening of the spillway gates.
Note. Wyangala dam storage above is used by all types of water enthuisist and respect for one another ensures all enjoy their sport of choice. The big waters of the dam can chop up to substancial waves and seeking protection of the enbankments from elements is recommended. See access point Wyangala park
