Description:
There are several grade 4 rapids in the stretch below Faulconbridge Point which should be inspected. Good rapids continue until 1 km upstream of Woods Creek where the white-water finishes. There are 6km of flat-water paddling to the finish point. This section of river offers a true wilderness trip and some magnificent scenery presents itself in the deep sandstone gorges

Typical of the easier rapids below the Burralow Creek junction. Nice paddling at 1.2m. I make a shortened trip of the section by entering from Cabbage Tree Rd, Grose Vale, then hike down a fire trail, then foot track down a creek line (very steep) to 100m downriver of Burralow Creek.

Grose River Packrafting in Sevylor Rio

I often use a Sevylor Rio to paddle this section. It fits neatly in a 115L Sea to Summit drybag with all the necessary stuff. I use a kayak paddle but kneel rather than sit, for better control in the whitewater. It's a good boat for this - very tough and cheap.
