Description:

The Reids Flat to Wyangala section of the Lachlan River is from flowing water(sometimes) at Reids Flat thru to stored water in the Wyangala dam.
Entry to this section depends on the river flow as in summer there can be little to none. Vehicle transport to Reids Flat bridge just below the village and now determine your entry point. If insufficent water at the bridge , travelling toward Grabine (signposted turn over bridge) water will be found along this gravel road. Stored water will be found eventually and entry to the water can be obtained from many bank locations along the way. You are travelling on a public road but through private property, most of this road is unfenced. Stock can be on road. travel with respect, care and caution. Road is narrow and twisty . You must be self sufficent as services here are non existant. Some services at the Grabine Recreation Park are available but dont depend on this. Distance from running water through stored water to Wyangala recreation park , with full services, depends on dam level. 100% capacity of the dam stores water to within 5km (approx) of Reids Flat.  Stored water at 103% have seen jet boats get to the bridge.  Wyangala dam has areas of wide open water that can roughen up in wind. Travel in protection of banks is recommended. Be awear of powerboats in the open areas.
Portage requirments depend on river level from none to crossing sand bars from water hole to water hole in summer
