006. Lachlan River, Wyangala Village below Wyangala
At present, July 2026 , it's is NOT recommended that this section be travased, very overgrown and very difficult and dangerous section, recommend that all starts be from the Darby Falls bridge.
When adaquate water is being released from the dam, the river is moderate to very fast-flowing water. There are small grade 1-2 rapids down to the grade 3 rapid just downstream from the dam. This rapid, which is occasionally used as a slalom site, has a 1 1/2m drop with a meaty stopper at the bottom, followed by a bouncy run. Conventional vehicles can be driven to within 200m of this rapid. Entry to site from disipator park in the village. Dirt track to starting point. Google maps shows the pool above the first rapid and the pool below the second rapid. Rafting may require higher water levels then paddlers to be able to manuver between large bolders.
