Description:

Lachlan river, Cottons Weir to Jemalong weir commences  Below Cottons weir , ending above Jemalong Weir.  The river depends on the releases from Wyangala Dam and as such numbers of river gauges should be checked to determine the river has adaquate water for the sections you are travelling. The river is slow flowing and has numerous dead trees across at various points. These have to be negotiated by the means each one dictates. The banks are high and steep in most places. Outside the river and these reserves you are in private property and proper care should be taken with other peoples property.. TSR Listed as an access point on this site.
TSR.
Travelling stock reserves are sections of Crown land available for casual public use and often leased to stock owners for short periods of time as well as being available for organised stock movements. These reserves are managed by Local Land Services and Rangers perform daily management.

These reserves are available for public access to the river or periods of rest. Not to be used as campsites. Fires are normally not permitted particularly in fire restriction periods.  Ensure your waste is removed and disposed of correctly. If you can carry it in you can carry it out.   www.centralwestlls.nsw.gov.au
