Jon Mortimer manages the Eurobodalla Kayakers website and email list. Eurobodalla Kayakers is not a club. It is simply a facility for sharing information about some kayaking activities in the district, for kayakers who want to know when and where other paddlers might be found on the water. Further information, including a calendar of paddles, is available on the website (access via the link below) or via the email eurobodallakayakers[at]gmail.com

Description:

A nice 15km paddle exploring this lake, the entrance and two interesting creeks.  Launch from the reserve at the end of Portland Street in the town of Lake Tabourie.  No facilities here but a useful place to launch.  An alternative is to launch at the Lake Tabourie Boat Ramp where there are toilets.  The lake is shallow so a paddle at high tide will allow for more exploration.  When the lake is not open to the sea check the level via the BOM gauge.  Note that the lake never gets too deep.  The council opens the lake at 1.17 metres to prevent flooding.  Take care near the entrance if the tide is running out.  Take a map because the creek entrances can be difficult to spot from the water.
