Description:

Entry point to the Lachlan River is from the low-level bridge below the main road bridge in the centre of the town of Cowra. River access is from the western bank downstream of the bridges or from the town water pumping station just above the caravan park, see that access point for details. exercise caution at the lowlevel bridge area.
Do not leave vehicles in the low level bridge area, ensure vehicles are at least removed to the carparks above the bridge.
This river is fast flowing in this section and caution is required when deciding the path around the various trees and island in the river. These change with each fresh. for example The floods of Winter 2016 have temporarily cleared most of the tangle at Nettly Flat, but at the downstream end there is a fallen willow across the whole river which you can push through with care.  But the Tanagle has been relocated 600m downstream.
Provided care is taken this is a top family run from Cowra to Farleigh beach.
Information about accommodation and services is available from the visitors centre  at the western end of the road bridge. Be sure to see the hologram in the visitors centre, you will be facinated.
