Description:

A beautiful section of river lined with trees (redgums and casuarinas). Nice, straightforward moving water (no whitewater) when the flow is good (1000 ML/day). This river usually only flows once or twice a year.
It is 14 km from Old Mendooran Rd to Brocklehurst, but if you can keep going and get out somewhere on the Macquarie, it is worth paddling down to the Macquarie (a further 1.6 km), as you go over a cool little rock-ledge drop shortly before the junction (there is a chute down it on the far left). From here, the nearest public exits are upstream on the Macquarie at Troy Bridge (2.5 km from the junction), or downstream to Terramungamine Reserve (4.5 km from the junction).
It is also worth finding a spot/getting permission to put in several km upstream if you can - as there are some interesting hazards to negotiate for some fun (currents through/around big snags).
On a 1000 ML/day flow, there is one portage (snag across river), though this could change with the next flow that goes down. The lower the flow, the snaggier it gets.
