010. Cowra to Gooloogong
Cowra to Gooloogong section of the Lachlan River requires a minimum of 1.7m at Cowra bridge and this level plus to have been running for at least 4 days, too ensure sufficent water if working powered vessel, to navigate the many obsticals across the river at various points. Trees across make the trip interesting with possible portage over required. This section can be broken into shorter sections being, Cowra to Farleigh beach, Farleigh Beach to Kennedy (7mile) or 14 mile reserve , Davidsons (Merriganowry) bridge and Davidsons to Gooloogong if travelling time is limited. The river can run quite fast in these sections. Trees in river can provide hazards. There are 4 Travelling stock reserves on this section (as above) which would allow exit or meeting with support crew. Officially these TSReserves do not permit camping with out permit but daily usage ,access and resting within is permitted. These are public reserves. See access points for locations.
Exit from this section can be at the site of the Holman bridge at Gooloogong or the reserve just before or Gray st reserve just beyond Gooloogong.
