The Lachlan River to Forbes is crossed by large trees, may require portage, which can make travel challenging but not difficult with due caution. Paddling becomes more difficult as the river slows from Gooloogong.  Paytons Bridge itself (Eugowra) is the next marker point besides reserves . The village of Eugowra is 10klms from the Lachlan River. The exit point in Forbes is one of three that have been identified and listed in Forbes, depending on personal choice.
The river is within a canyon most of the way with very high steep banks. Camping spots can be found along this section along the water's edge  or in reserves. This section has 9 TSRs (Travelling Stock Reserves) along the river. These are show as way points on this site. Camping  is not permitted within TSRs, but being public areas, can be used on a daily basis and as a rest site.  These TSR s provide entry/exit points along the way without crossing private land. GPS co-ords are shown in each access point.
 Note:
TSR or Travelling Stock Reserves are sections of Crown land  leased to stock owners for short periods of time as well as being available for organised stock movements and available for casual public day use. These reserves are managed by Local Land Services and Rangers perform daily management.
These reserves are available for public access to the river or periods of rest. Not to be used as campsites. Fires are normally not permitted particularly in fire restriction periods.  Ensure your waste is removed and disposed of correctly. If you can carry it in you can carry it out.  www.centralwestlls.nsw.gov.au
